Leadership Development on a Large Scale

Executive leaders of a large international corporation reorganized their field force to achieve competitive advantages in a changing marketplace. Through combining its expertise with business diagnosis and leadership development, WLH created a large scale leadership intervention.

In partnership with the company’s most senior leaders, WLH helped the client identify new skills and tools needed to support the change in strategic direction and accelerate the ability of employees to adapt to new customers, new regions, new teams, new roles, and responsibilities.

As part of the project, WLH:

Designed a series of leadership programs that were cascaded to over 400 participants around the country.

Designed and facilitated a three-day strategic planning workshop for top leaders to identify and agree upon core operational tenets that would define the organizational culture and strategic direction after the reorganization.

Developed a three-day Leadership Summit for strategic planning and implementation.

The learning intervention focused on transforming the performance culture to:

Increase accountability and allow new teams to assume full ownership of business results and talent development.

Empower decision-making responsibilities at the lowest possible level.

Eliminate non-value added activities to maximize productivity.

Increase customer focus by better identifying and understanding customer needs and developing deeper relationships with them to drive long-term performance.

Improve the organization’s understanding of its products, markets, and competition to ensure the achievement of strategic objectives.

Establish and track metrics by teams to assess and address performance issues quickly.
